Rogelio Enrique Carles-Rosas was born and raised in Panama City, Panama. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication at the University Santa Maria La Antigua in Panama, and later travelled to Toronto, Canada where he obtained a Diploma of Classical Animation at Sheridan College.

Rogelio worked in animation in Toronto for four years. In 1996 he moved to New Zealand to work as an animator in the Hairy Maclary video series, a well known New Zealand children's character.

Over the past eight years, Rogelio has provided illustrations for a variety of clients such as The New Zealand Police, New Zealand Qualifications Authority, ACC, The Correspondence School and Learning Media. His subject range is broad and includes road, farm and beach safety education, exercise manuals, Spanish language courses and traditional costumes.

Rogelio worked designing and building floats, costumes and props in Panama. In New Zealand he has been involved in theming corporate parties, float design and construction, costume design and decorations for festivals such as the Cuba Street Carnival and the national Jambalaya event.

In 1997, Rogelio started teaching salsa and merengue dancing in Wellington and became involved in traditional Latin American dancing exhibitions, activities he continues to enjoy regularly.
